My top 3 teaser trailers

Amelie Teaser Trailer - Jean Pierre Jeunet

I love the quirky feel that we get when we watch this teaser trailer. The establishing shot at the start shows us the word 'brasserie' which suggests that we are in France, however, we don't see any iconic features such as the Eiffel Tower or Champs Elysees which can suggest that the place plays a major part in the story-line. The title 'Amelie' suggests that we are going to be following one person around - with the teaser trailer then showing only her life fulfills the idea that the film is almost going to be a visual diary of her life. The music which is used, like the editing, suggests that her life is fast paced and almost like a fairy-tale. The scenes which have been used represent the best parts of her life, such as the cheeky bedroom scene and also having this fun life roaming around the streets with a guy. When Amelie is in bed with the guy, she has eye contact all the time with the audience which suggests that she wants you to come and see the film and be a girl and laugh at all of the happenings.

Going The Distance Teaser Trailer

The teaser trailer for this film is the smallest that I have seen so far whilst doing research into various types of teaser trailers, however, within the 32 seconds they have released the basic plot which I am able to understand and generate a basic interest for the new film. The reason why I like this teaser trailer is because it shows a 'naturalistic' theme. I like how this teaser trailer shows a theme which can happen in life (in only 30 seconds) which the audience feel as if they can relate to.

500 days of summer

This teaser trailer is one that I like as it has that 'quirky' style that I like; with the naturalistic lighting also naturalistic theme. It is effective because of the name '500 days of summer' as you think it is literally 500 days of the season, not 500 days of a person. I like how the trailer actually relates to the film, and again, similar to Amelie - creates a sense of the two characters being followed in their daily process and no one else is involved. This creates an attachment with the two characters and the audience as they are almost being let into these peoples lives.
